Nitrile butadiene rubber is a copolymer of acrylonitrile and butadiene, which has excellent resistance to petroleum and non-polar solvents, and has good mechanical properties. Specific performance mainly depends on the content of acrylonitrile components, acrylonitrile content is higher than 50% has a strong resistance to mineral oil and fuel, but its elasticity at low temperature, permanent compression deformation becomes poor, low acrylonitrile butadiene rubber has good low temperature resistance, but reduces the oil resistance at high temperature.
Temperature range: -25 ~ 100℃
Advantages:
· Good resistance to oil, water, solvent and high pressure oil
· Good compression, wear and tensile properties
· Used for making rubber parts of fuel tank and lubricating oil tank
· Used in petroleum hydraulic oil, gasoline, water, silicone grease, silicone oil, diester lubricating oil, ethylene glycol series
Rubber parts used in fluid media such as hydraulic fluids
Disadvantages:
· Not suitable for use in polar solvents such as ketones, ozone, nitrohydrocarbons, MEKs and chloroform
· No ozone resistance, weather resistance, heat resistance to air aging
Applicable media:
· Aliphatic hydrocarbon (butane, propane), engine oil, fuel oil, vegetable oil, mineral oil
· HFA, HFB, HFC hydraulic oil
· Low concentration acid, alkali and salt at room temperature
· Water
Not suitable for media:
· High aromatic hydrocarbon content fuel oil
· Aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene)
· Chlorinated hydrocarbons (trichloroethane)
· Polar solvents (ketone, acetone, acetic acid, ether)
· Strong acid
· Glycol-based brake fluid
